Learning from Frisian Entrepreneurship education i

The schoolyear had only just begun when a European party travelled to Leeuwarden to experience  how we organise entrepreneurship education for VET student.

Inqubator Leeuwarden had the pleasure of hosting i.a. VET colleges from Spain and Denmark and the Lisburn and Castlereagh  City Council (UK) and show them around entrepreneurship education in Friesland. To do this, Inqubator Leeuwarden had invited its regional stakeholders. Inqubator Leeuwarden, Friesland College, Friese Poort, Jong Ondernemen; all of them explained how VET students are triggered to have an entrepreneurial mind-set, both professionally and personally. Besides explanations on entrepreneurship education, the Europeans could truly experience what entrepreneurship education is all about by playing a competence game moderated by Marie-Jetske and Nynke from BDF.

The Europeans were in Leeuwarden within the framework of the MASTER project. MASTER provides lots of practical information and guides to help teachers help students to start up and become more entrepreneurial. MASTER (Mainstreaming Student Entrepreneurship) is designed to improve entrepreneurship education for all students, not just those individuals who express an interest in starting a business.

Because Inqubator Leeuwarden is always looking for ways to promote entrepreneurship and improve entrepreneurship education for students, in autumn of 2016 they joined the partnership project MASTER (Mainstreaming Student Entrepreneurship). MASTER compares different forms of entrepreneurship education in Europe to create a practical set of entrepreneurship classes. These lessons can subsequently be used at the workshops and master classes Inqubator provides to VET students in Leeuwarden.

Within MASTER, Inqubator Leeuwarden cooperates with Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council (UK), vocational college Technical Education Copenhagen (DK), Post-secondary college Cebanc (San Sebastian, ES), Roscommon Leader Partnership (IE), Feltech Software Innovations (Woorford, IE) and EfVET (Brussels, BE).
